Upward basketball and cheerleading is a fun and exciting sports league for boys and girls 1st-6th grade. Upward promotes character and self-esteem in every child by providing equal playing time for every player, one hour practices, weekly games, and positive coaching and role modeling.

Registration and Cost

Registration runs through December 8.

Cost: $95 per child. Scholarship assistance is available. Uniform is included, and belongs to the child: Basketball: jersey, t-shirt, and reversible shorts; Cheerleading: vest, mock t-neck, skort, pompoms, and matching hair ribbons.

Teams

Boys and girls play in separate leagues. Teams are formed by grade level. Siblings of like age can be placed on separate teams or together at the request of parents. During registration you can indicate one night that the child cannot practice.

Practices - Monday through Friday, January 4 through March 19

Practices are one hour in length and are offered Monday through Friday, January 4 through March 19, after school. Iindividual coaches select their time based on their schedules and include a short devotion with the team.

Schedule

Team assignments are in December.

There is a mandatory orientation/evaluation (plan for 30 minutes) for each registered child on Tuesday, December 8, from 4-6 p.m., or Saturday, November 21, from 9 a.m.-noon.

During this time children will be able to try on uniforms and run a few drills in the gym with a coach. These evaluations help us form equal teams.

Games start Saturday, January 30 through Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Games are one hour long, and scheduled on a rotating basis.
